Chemmeen is a Malayalam language novel.It is written by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai.It was published in 1956.Karuthamma, the daughter of a Hindu fisherman, and Pareekutti, the son of a Muslim fish wholesaler are the main characters of this novel.The novel tells love story between these two characters.It also includes the fisher men's myth about chastity.A hit film with the same name as novel was also released.
